Total seats : A total of 85 vacancies are available for IFS
Age limit for IFS 2013 exam : Should be between 21 to 30 years as on 01.08.2013. However the upper age limit is relaxed as per norms.
Educational qualification: The candidates must have Bachelors Degree with at least one of the following subjects Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or Bachelors Degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering from a recognized university.
IFS Exam 2013 New Pattern And Selection Procedure/Criteria
If you are planning to appear in IFS 2013 exam then read the new selection procedure for IFS. From this year 2013 Government has changed the exam pattern by introducing the screening process through Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination.
So you have to sit for Civil Services Preliminary examination 2013 and have to qualify for the same. Only the qualified candidates from the written exam of Civil Services Exam can appear for the IFS Main exam 2013. UPSC Civil Services screening is the first round of IFS 2013 exam.

How to apply online and pay application fees for UPSC IFS 2013 Exam
To apply online visit to upsconline.nic.in and then apply for Civil Services Preliminary examination 2013 which acts as a screening process for the candidates to take up IFS Main Exam 2013. Candidates who wish to apply for both Civil Services and IFS have to indicate that they intend to appear for both IFS and Civil Services Exam. As mentioned here on Civil Services Examination 2013 fill the form and submit the application and get the registration ID and keep it for future reference. Last date to apply online is 04th April, 2013 till 11:59 pm.

Fee payment Candidates need to pay 100 towards examination fees by depositing the money in SBI Bank branches or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner&Jaipur / State Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/ State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit cards.
